Merzouga To Safsaf Desert Tour

Enjoy on a one-day excursion that kicks off after breakfast. You’ll be picked up in a 4×4 vehicle from your camp or accommodation. The journey to the oasis involves exploring small Berber villages around the Erg Chebbi dunes. Along the way, you’ll pass through the charming village of Tissardmine, the Tissardmine Oasis, natural fossils, and sites with black volcanic rocks.

Continuing along the trail, you’ll eventually reach Safsaf Oasis, located near the Algerian border. Here, a delightful lunch awaits, allowing you to savor delicious food while enjoying the breathtaking desert landscape. Safsaf Oasis is a serene and picturesque place surrounded by wild palm trees, a natural water well, elevated hills, and crossed by the Safsaf river, once a home to Berber nomads.

Under the shade of palm trees, you’ll relish a traditionally prepared Berber pizza and a refreshing cup of tea, often referred to as Berber Whiskey by locals. After lunch and some rest, the tour resumes, passing by Berber nomad families on the way back to the Erg Chebbi surroundings. Upon reaching a panoramic view of the golden dunes, you can choose to experience a magical desert sunset either by camel trek or in a 4×4 vehicle—it’s up to you. Following the sunset, you’ll head back to your accommodation for relaxation and an overnight stay.
